me and my bro are trying to connect to xbox live and we're thinking that if we get a xbox 360 live gold card for regular xbox, it might not work.

It won't work. You need to get the XBX Live card if you want to use it on your XBX. The 360 Live time card only works for 360 XBL.

I had the gold card, but does it has a expire date for activation?

Yes. If you still have the original package, it is on the back, about halfway down on the left column. As the card itself doesn't say the expiration date, I would guess that the only way to find out when your card expires is to call/email/somehow contact Microsoft and ask for your card. I happen to have an old, unopened card on my desk, and mine has an expiration date of 6/30/09. Mine is a HALO 3 card (at least a year old, maybe almost 2 years old) so the cards last a while before expiring.

I used the card one day, I received it wishes to bypass my credit card. There are problems with the server, I tried to restore my code. Note I did say console not best online gaming experience period. So anyone complaining that it costs $60 a year for gaming take note. Go scrounge up your pennies every month and pay for a great online experience.
